And I was left unsupervised? IDK, I have had a dream for many years and that dream is to go back to Europe. I went in 2005 to the United Kingdom, and haven’t been back since because life is not overflowing with travel money.

But the wish remained all these years, so I planned and saved and finally (FINALLY) made it reality. So as a half apology that I missed so many months of blogging, and half a brag because let’s be real here, it’s freaking Europe, here are many, many photos. Enjoy!

Our first stops: Frankfurt airport, some hotel time, and a lot of trial and error on the train to Oldenburg. Oldenburg is lovely! It’s North, by the coast and almost into Denmark. So green, and pretty. And of course with beautiful old architecture!

Our next stop and home base for the remainder of the trip was Esslingen am Neckar. We stayed in an Airbnb and used Esslingen as our base for many, many fun day trips around Southwest Germany. We saw the Mercedes Benz museum (very cool), many castles (also amazing), a UEFA championship game between Belgium and Ukraine (SO loud, and very exciting), ate lots of Döner (Turkish food in Germany is delicious), and a lot of gelato ice cream.
